MK Subtle Tanning Lotion UPDATE!

I received my Subtle Tanning Lotion in the mail a couple weeks ago and immediately began using it the next day!  I didn't really think about it so I didn't do a "before and after" picture like I should have, but I can try to depict my results…

I had heard from another consultant that the best way to use it is to use do so consecutively for the first 2-3 days, and then use it every other day after that.  I will say that the results didn't create a "wow" factor, because then they'd probably rename it to "WOW, Tanning Lotion".  It's not supposed to be "wow"… just subtle.  Which is what it was.  I had zero time in the sun and had started wearing shorts and tank tops even though I was super pale, and it gave me just enough color that people were less likely to squint when I wore shorts.  As soon as I noticed I had taken on some color though, I immediately went to my friend Sara at work because I wanted to be sure I wasn't being biased since I obviously wanted it to work well.   She knew that I had ordered it in order to try it and asked her if I looked orange or not because I knew she'd be honest (she is a faithful customer so of course she's going to help me with my trial and error product testing).  She said I did look a little darker with no hints of orange… yay!

I will say that I was very careful on the insides of my arms and around my wrists, elbows and knees because those are the areas that are most likely to turn orange if you don't apply evenly… something else to remember is to WASH YOUR HANDS after you're done applying.  I forgot one day and it did show.  Also, I didn't use it on my face - Mary Kay has a Tinted Moisturizer (with SPF!!) that I use instead.

I've been out in the sun since I started using it so I'm going to continue using it every other day, because I think it offers a nice glow when mixed with already tan skin.  Something else that I love right now is my Desert Sun Bronzing Powder that I use over my blush.  It makes my cheeks glisten and I also use it for eye shadow because I like shimmery shadows… AND it's mineral.

If there's anything you have questions about and I haven't tried it yet, I'll try to get you another consultant's feedback OR you can order it yourself with assurance of a money back guarantee if you're not 100% satisfied.  Summer is almost here - are you ready?!

Ok, I'll admit it..

I'm addicted to Mary Kay's Microdermabrasion set.  I didn't realize it until a couple weeks ago, but I really am.  And as it turns out, I was depriving myself initially because I was only using Step 1 (Refine) to begin with, and only later realized that Step 2 was sitting in my office this whole time.  So, the next time I used the microderm cleanser (I only use it 3 times a week), I put on the Step 2 (Replenish phase) right after, like you're supposed to.  I didn't really notice a difference right away, but when I woke up the next morning, I could tell a HUGE difference in how soft my face was.

I only use this set at night because I like for the vitamins that are in the Step 2 formula to be on my face all night without make-up.  It seems counter-productive to clean your face that well and then put make-up on top of it (even if it IS mineral eye colors and mineral foundation).  But when I say I'm addicted, I have to literally remind myself when I reach for it in the shower or at night that it will dry my skin out if I use it every day.  I just LOVE the feeling of my skin the morning after using it though.  I can honestly say that I haven't had a break-out since I began the Time Wise Miracle set, but that's a whole other post.

Upcoming experiment - I just ordered the Mary Kay Subtle Tanning Lotion, because I've had several people ask me what I think of it.  So, with the upcoming beach weather, I figured it would be a good time to test it out and give feedback based on MY experience, instead of hearsay.  It's the beauty of being a consultant with getting to try out all of these products for my customers… =)  It's a tough job, but someone has to do it..

It's never too early to start considering how you're going to show the mothers in your life that you're thinking of them.  Whether that be your mom, the mother of your children, grandmother, sister, etc - if they're a mom, they count!

Mary Kay has some great ideas for gifts this year!  And.. you get free shipping to you OR you can have it shipped directly to your mom of choice, beautifully wrapped… thoughtful & easy!

Some of MK's most popular Mother's Day items:

1.  Fragrance Set with MK's signature smells: $45

Or maybe you know that she needs a refill on her TimeWise Skin Regimen… or maybe she could use some new spring colors to add to her compact?  I've already been questioned several times regarding MK's Sun Care Collection for sunless tanning - a great option for the spring!  The possibilities are endless - let me know if you have any questions on any products and I'm happy to help!

Diving In

After making the decision to start my own business, the next logical step is to INFORM and let people know!  Mainly because I've been in the real world long enough to know that it's just not possible to survive without customers..

I am an Independent Beauty Consultant for MaryKay and rather than easing into this whole process like I thought I was doing, I've gracefully stumbled into a splash of motivation to get things moving.  Despite having a full-time job working 40-45 hours/week (sometimes more), planning a wedding, and attempting to maintain some sort of social life on top of that, I've decided to add on 1 more tiny, huge challenge.  And here I am.

If you'd like to look around my website to see what MaryKay products I can offer you to get your skin looking and feeling the way that makes YOU feel best, then please let me know how I can help!  Spring is here and there is an "a-may-zing" new spring line that will help you warm up your look so that you're ready and waiting for summer, instead of summer waiting on you!

Let's do this…  www.marykay.com/hjmay/
